Sony 3D camcorders plus projector handycams

“Sony today unveiled its new Handycam® camcorders, Bloggie® cameras and Cyber-shot® digital still cameras with powerful image sensors, new innovative features and strong core video and still photo capture capabilities that make it even easier to get the best shot—even in 3D. “With these new camcorders and cameras, Sony continues to transform ideas into reality, imagination into real-world products,” said Brennan Mullin, senior vice president of the digital imaging group. Like at last year’s CES, Sony went all-in with 3D this year but has focused more on the ability for anyone to create their own 3D content. A new range of Sony camcorders and still cameras let users record 3D movies and take 3D stills before viewing them on a 3D TV, laptop or the camera’s built-in glasses-free 3D display. Sony’s HDR-TD10 is essentially two camcorders strapped together, which Sony says make it the first true HD 3D video recorder, offering a full HD image for each eye. The only catch is that in 3D mode the camera will barely squeeze out half an hour of battery life.
The company also showed off a 3D version of its small Bloggie video capture device and a 2D handycam with a built-in projector that can beam video up to 1.5 metres wide.
