This handycam makes it possible to directly record home movies and simple pictures onto a DVD blank disc and immediately replay them on a standard DVD player. It also has the option of directly selecting a frame anywhere in the video recording and skipping back and forth through the onscreen menu to select the part of the video the user wishes to view.
The handy cam comes with a 1mega-pixel CCD sensor, Carl Zeiss Tessar optical zoom and a high definition 6.2cm LCD Hybrid screen with 123,000 pixels. It is compatible with DVD-R/-RW. There are a number of input connections, audio/video, s-video input and out put along with a USB 2.0 port. This DVD recording device weighs about 500 gms and has dimensions of 50.5 x 88 x 136 mm. It includes a self-timer and a built in speaker. It also has an integrated FM micro and windbreaker filter.

The editing function can be done without the use of a computer in (VR-Mode) VR and Video Mode. The recording of data is in MPEG 2.

The Sony DVD cam comes with a two-year extendable warranty.
It will be available by the end of July in Sony stores and other electronic stores in major metros across the country.
